quote you thought of
its never the idea that makes the money, its the execution of the idea often by somebody else.

adjustments in 1 up
1-1-3
go bigs at the elbows throw and run a handoff pg goes to the corner and ur still in 1 up big should look to other f diving and look to drive
1-3 with chaser
same thing, also put chased player at rollout and just run 1 up.
you should be able to get open shots, just got to be good enough to hit em.

sets other ideas
Duck to set up post or right handed driver
into second pick and roll
2 -3 high offense, pass screen away until you get to the wing, then slip to the rim. if you get a screen either curl or use the screen. Fill the 4 perimeter spots.
post starts high if it goes wing they dive and post, seal at ft line if denied. Post sets back screens for cutters using screens as they curl to the rim.
on the weak side slip if the post is down, look to flash to the ft line for iso drive. Swing the ball and look for drives.
have a call for face cuts instead of screens.
on pass to center run turnout with screen down.
Special, after 5 sets back pick, roll down to post.
different formation and different action from 1 up.
Control offensive balance with the sets you call. You control who gets shots and looks.

Trapping for all defense
first and most important thing= doesn't matter what trap we run, its all the same system. 22, chaos, go traps, stack and split. Its all the same.....................the kids understand the concept, they understand the system. I'm not really running different defenses.
Football coach= 10 plays from 60 different formations.
22 up= started with 23 trap in 5th grade, then extended it to half, then extended it 3 qtr, then went full all as they grew older. never taught a new defense.
1) if you don't have players you're screwed
2) Coaches clinic at Kennedy, old dude showed his offense, then shoed it against zone, then showed how its his pressbreak, then show how he could run it against anything. Simplicity= concepts
Trapping drills
two types of trap
NBA contain trap= two guys side by side, just alter pass and your teammates will get steal. more to contain a great guard who you can't steal the ball from. Chris Paul trap
Regular V trap= put pressure on player in trap go for a tip. One player forces sprint dribble, other player takes an angle to lock in the v
Channel Trapping, can also be an offensive drill, put passing boxes up.
put cones up on key lines, if you want to work on contain trap start d at each one of the front cones, if you want to angle v trap, start one player on the ball and the other at the last cone they will attack dribbler once they cross the first cone.
then did shell with go traps.
did system traps next= Chaos, etc

Kai 3 things that were worked on
1) positioning and angles (sealing)
2) Rack moves
3) Quick feel moves with pivots
When you have a mismatch you don't want to use a rack move= help is already coming. Instead you should feel the defender and make a quick pivot to score over the mismatch.

Thoughts and Eval after Alameda Game
Other kids starting to step up
Need to get Taylor going harder off the flat screen
Wing Offense+Reversal phase, post scoring, recognizing the size mismatches
need one more inbounds play= wok on shooter with mods
Need to be better screeners= Seattle +option and reads
Polish box Tay= if they don't over play?
more fastbreak stuff
Go trapped only looked good
3 work post comes over so both defensive forwards are on strong side, tell the guard to drop
Post doubles
Continue with the defensive work, you are getting better at what you do.
Ohio State Sets? weird single double
Bob defense with breakdowns.
Must develop Missy and Santy

Kayla frank stay flat
traps were just ok, front 2 really pressured but forwardsneed to be mpre agg
even against a zone must understand how to attack and draw
we cannot allow straight line drives and cannot quit on the play defensively, 2 qtr
no soft takes
live ball steals and rebounds, more easy points
we have the hp on rover must seal must fake and pass
really loud when matching up, chop your feet everytime
jump to ball on facecuts
forced a sc violation first poss in 32, awesome, active and match up
up th line and help from the wing when mis match on 3
on spartan elbow go wing

23 dupuis left handed forward I want her in the pick and roll, fouls, cant defend
tight packe in 1-3-1 square and maybe even 1 up against it players wont leave their zones, 2nd time 1-1-3 mixed in
Build equity tonight
Pg is weak against pressure get after her
Keola= scorer
We can kill this team on the boards
Inbounds box set= ball call for shooter then gate pick, post set rip at oppo elbow and seals, back cut play. only works if were dumb, shooter cross screen
run run run on them
1-2-1-1 no face guard
Can only win if we are tougher
